woah today has been a long day. carolling from 1-5.30 then camp echo from 5.30-8.30 and now im back [with the rest of them. they'll leave later tonight] i shall save unleash another time. carolling and camp echo first.
carolling.
i skipped carolling musicians pract yesterday, but haha apparently they didnt do much- mainly slacking, talking, playing bridge... carolling was good, i always loved carolling because i find it very meaningful compared to shopping shopping and more shopping. spreading the true meaning of Christmas- that's the way to spend the Christmas season. when you go to the homes and see the smiles on their faces because they feel and know that people care and that there's Someone up there who loves them, i mean it's just priceless. and i was just thinking about it during the busrides from place to place. Christmas has become so commercialised. it's shopping, partying, clubbing... i mean Christmas is the day to remember when Jesus came down to earth as a mere baby, and eventually die to save us from our sins. it's not a made-up story it's more than that it's reality. it's not a holiday season to remember santa claus and his oh so lovely reindeers and sliding down chimneys and flying in the sky and what not. it's not a time for to shop until you drop because there are huge sales going on. it doesnt make sense to me how the world has shifted its focus from Jesus- the reason why there's Christmas in the first place. it's like watching a play without its main actor. and for some reason, without the main actor, the play still goes on- but in a totally different direction from the intended one. some members in the audience try to introduce the lead actor time and again, but the audience themselves kick him out. Christmas just isnt Christmas without Jesus. as in everyone's busy buying/ receiving gifts and all, but forget the greatest gift of all. actually i still have a lot more to say but i dont know how to express myself so nevermind.
camp echo.
camp echo was great. from the praise and worship, yes revival finally. especially when we sang here i am by planet shakers. because i was leading so i was on the stage and woah great is an understatement. haha everyone started laughing when we saw the videos and the photos. but still velda my personal photographer added in weird captions. and three which were terribly untrue and everyone believes it, see what youve done miss v. p-l-a-t-o-n-i-c friendships do exist okay. it was super freaky because i went to the washroom then i came back when they showed that photo [with the horrible caption] and everyone turned back and looked at me, then looked at brandon and went "oooohhhh", and i didnt know what was going on. but just to clear things up, really, we're only good friends, very good friends, best friends. nothing more. fullstop. dont be mean to us please. it was great seeing everyone again, and i was really glad to see the newcomers fitting in so well with the rest. so thankyou to all youths for making them feel at home. had games which was really fun. and haha of course the classic whacko. james was the ultimate. everytime someone called him, he would go "james. JAMES! I SAID JAMES ALREADY WHY YOU WHACK ME." he thinks that when someone calls your name, you have to say your name. amusing man. thankyou everyone for all your sweet notes, hugs and everything. somehow some people outside the comm found out that i will most probably be going to zion permanently. i was very shocked when danielle started crying and asking me not to go. i was like !!! im not on the verge of death or anything. dont cry dont cry! okay i simply cannot write down everything that happened during camp echo. memories (:
came across these calvin and hobbes comics quite a while ago. i signed up for some calvin and hobbes thing, so they deliver one comic each day to my email [so fun right]! maybe im reading too much into them, but haha isnt this just peiling's nature. but i shall just summarise my thoughts for each strip into a few sentences/ a question.

haha i think this time im really reading too much into it. but the thing that came to my mind straight away was when people tell me "who gives your God the right to be the ruler of my life". "santa makes the toys, so he gets to decide who to give them to." "God made you, He is your creator so He rules you."

must everything have a price before it has a worth?

what's all the money we work hard for for anyway?
camp comm sleepover was cool. im sorry guys for making you stay up to talk and lol counsel me. okay i shall heed your advice, i wont lie about how im feeling. im not feeling good, am i supposed to feel good? months of planning have gone down the drain just like that. and the reason? yours truly. it's not a matter of people blaming me, i know no one does. uncle andrew, uncle ys and whoever have told me a thousand and one times that it's not my fault. but it's just... i dont know how to put it so enough of it. it's horrible. on the other hand, other than that, we had a great time. making a lot of noise, cracking lame jokes, just talking. thankyou, you guys are great.
but anyway, there was this part where we were just sharing what our ambition is. and i started thinking about my ambition once again. ive got 3 choices. doctor, social worker, something along the econs line. if i follow my heart, i'll choose social worker. i really want to be social worker. actually i never thought of doing social work until mid this year. i mean it's a great opportunity to touch lives and to show others Jesus' love. but it's this whole money issue. for all of my 14 years, all the jobs i wanted to take up are those which i can make big bucks. of course there's the usual policeman fireman pilot thing. then came lawyer and doctor. i dropped my ambition of being a lawyer when i was p5, because being a lawyer... i dont know there are times when you have to fight for someone whom you know is in the wrong. and when you just start out, it's not going to do you good by saying no to a client. that's what my lawyer cousin told me. when i was choosing subject combi, my parents asked me what i wanted to be next time. so i told them, my bro and sis gave me the ?! are you crazy expression when i said i may want to be social worker. but my parents told me that as long as i have a stable income and am able to support myself, they'll support me if that's what i want to do. and im very thankful for that. i think my parents are different from others in the sense that they'd rather i be social worker/ missionary/ church worker than to be a high-flyer. if i want to make money fast, i'll do econs in university and get a job related to that, investment thing or banker or something. of course there's the option of making money then becoming a social worker, but it's just different from being a social worker right from the start. doctor... it's a mix of what i want and the want to make money. though it's a rather long road before im able to make lots of money. okay im not making any sense. and it's still a long way more for me [who knows maybe by then i wont be on earth anymore] as my people have been telling me "pray about it." and pray i shall.
